CREATIVE MEDIA SECTOR Session 4 - JOB ROLES IN THE GAMING INDUSTRY

Over the next two weeks before I finish with you I'd like you to tell me about what jobs are available in the gaming industry - under what sort of contracts, how people find and are recruited to those jobs, and what kind of professional behaviour will be expected of employees in those jobs.

Today I simply want you to give me a detailed (more detail than you went into in the previous unit) outline of what kind of jobs are available in the games industry. Do this as follows.

1. Have a look at one or more of the following links and get yourself acquainted with what types of job are available in the games industry. Try and read about not just the creative jobs, but also management jobs, technical jobs, editorial jobs like games journalism or story writing, marketing jobs, admin jobs, legal jobs and financial jobs.

2. Add a new heading in your Creative Media Sector post called 'Jobs In The Gaming Industry. 

3. Give me descriptions of AT LEAST THREE jobs. Try and make one of them a 'creative' job, one a management job, and one a technical job.  For each of these job descriptions I want to know

(a) what the job role entails.
(b) what skills it needs
(c) who you'll liase with most closely in that job
(d) things like typical earnings/hours/work-patterns.

So you're going to put the job title in as a heading and then answer those questions for at least THREE jobs.

4. Once you have AT LEAST THREE job descriptions completed check out any links you didn't look at for any extra info you can give. Feel free to add more job descriptors if you wish but make sure you tell me the four things I've asked for in each one. Throughout your work on this unit please graphically illustrate things with images/relevant videos where appropriate.
